Are you protecting your employees, your company, and yourself against work related road accidents?

The Corporate Manslaughter & Corporate Homicide Act 2007 states that companies and organisations can be found guilty of corporate manslaughter as a result of serious management failures resulting in a gross breach of duty of care.

Translated this means that directors of  company's can be held criminally responsible if it is proven that an employee had not had adequate training while driving for work, this includes those employees driving company vehicles, as well as those driving their own vehicles.

Directors and Owners must ensure that they have, and are managing a Driving for Work policy.

What's the business reason?

Work related accidents are much more expensive than many employer's realise. You may have to pay out far more than your insurance covers. It is estimated that the full cost to you the employer might be £8 to £36 for every pound paid on your insurance claim, this will have an immediate effect on your bottom line.

It is a legal requirement for companies who employ five or more people to have a driving for work safety policy. For more information go to the Dept of Transport Driving for Work website.
